STUDIO ETHOS & PHILOSOPHY

Architecture as a Dialogue of Pure Form, Structural Integrity, and Timeless Light

At Goldsborough Properties, we perceive architecture to be responsible its surroundings, the people that engage with it, and environment in which it effects.

Having grown up in historic New England, I developed a deep appreciation for blending older architecture with modern conveniences while preserving the character and integrity of the original design.

I grew up in Connecticut, studied at Carnegie Mellon University and Tulane University, and returned to Fairfield County to pursue my architectural career. There, I worked with numerous architectural firms, both independently through my own business, Designs and Alterations, and as a full-time member of established practices.

Over the years, my projects have included numerous high-end residences, Junior's Cheesecake in New York City, a $10 million public school project (P.S. 128) in Queens, and countless country clubs.

Each project presented its own unique challenges, but all shared a common goal: to blend the new with the old so seamlessly that the finished work appears as though it had always belonged—as if we were simply completing what should have been there from the beginning.

I will always remember the advice my first employer gave me: “Put yourself in the other person's shoes and look.”

That simple lesson has stayed with me throughout my career. It continues to help me gain perspective, understand the needs of others, and stretch my imagination to find thoughtful architectural solutions.
